24/04/2015

Alex Santin (Spain), Eric Leijtens (Netherland) and Iker Larranaga (Spain) team Jezyk Espana, Stefano Pezzuto (Italy) team Yamaha Italian Factory, Simone Furlotti (Italy) team KTM Silver Action, Albie Wilkie (UK) and Nick Kouwenberg (Netherland) team Honda Jtech, all Korax's riders and relative teams that the past Sunday in Arco di Trento, concurrently with the fourth round of the motocross World championship, started their adventure in the european championship 2015 that started in Italy.
Three categories, that is the 125, the 150 and the 250 wrangled in fact on the Ciclamino di Pietramurata track their first race, and to confirm the high interest this championship is getting, there is to underline as in the 125 class that in the 250, the upper limit of 100 riders enrolled was reached.
Right in the higher class, the 250, the Korax riders excelled, and Nick Kouwenberg (see photo), which we remember as already winner of the last round of the Internationals of Italy, did not disappoint the expectations. The Honda Jtech rider, with an eye to the long championship than not to the result on this track not so him congenial, put in his pocket a very important fourth overall, with equal point to the third classified. Only in fact the discriminating which, in case of equal points, see the overall result decided on the base of the second heat, precluded in fact him the satisfaction of the podium. But the third position in the Saturday heat and the fourth in that of Sunday, achieved always recovering many positions after not so brilliant starts and with a very cautious race rithm, are placing him between the protagonists of this championship.
The KTM Silver Action man Simone Furlotti, which could count on lap times as the best riders on track, deserved instead more from this event, but in the fist heat, after an excellent start and a series of laps in fifth position, a crash made him downgrade to the last place and then decide for a retreat. In the second heat things did not go much better, nay were complicated immediately due to a crash of group at the start seeing him involved and ousted from the competition.
While Stefano Pezzuto got some little point too for this first race, the rock of the qualifications stopped instead as Iker Larranaga still suffering about a knee problem that Albie Wilkie, 2014 european champion in the 150 class, that this year passed to the major class and was so to his first experience in this fighted category. Same weird in the 125 class for Eric Leijtens and for Alex Santin, to which we make the best wishes for a quick healing because a crash while he was playing his qualification costed him a broken wrist and will so not be to the start of the next round. Already in fact this weekend, the terrible dutch sand of Valkenswaard will be the theater of the second appointement of this championship.
To finish, we extend our congratulations also to Maxime Desprey, Korax rider in 2014 with the Honda Jtech team which lined him up in the MX2 World championship, and has this year passed to Kawasaki Bud Racing team opting for the european 250 and gaining deservedly the victory in this first round in Arco.
