STEPHEN RUBINI WIN IN SARDINIA

01/02/2016

The French Korax rider Stephen Rubini won the 125 class of 2016 motocross Internazionals of Italy first round. Location of this first race was Alghero, Sardinia, where this european international new season started. With one 1st place in moto 1 and a 2nd place in moto 2 (got coming back from the last position due to a very bad start), Rubini won the overall and got the 1st position on the point standing. This while his team, the KTM Silver Action, also lined up in the MX2 class other 2 of its 6 Korax riders. During the season the team's riders will race on the MX2 class in the GP and the European championship too in the 85, 125 and 250 class. Good training so for Jens Getteman, on his first race with his new KTM and after the bad injury at the Assen GP last August. The Belgian finished 13th on the MX2 class and 27th on the Superfinal (the mixed race with 250 and 450 riders, where in the 450 class almost all the MXGP top riders were on track) due to some crash. His teammate, Cyril Genot, from Belgium too, finished 11th on the MX2 class and 34th on the Superfinal with some crash too. The others Silver Action Team riders, Davide Cislaghi and Nicola Bertuzzi, are instead still recovering from injuries, so not racing, while the young vice minicross Italian champion Andrea Bonacorsi, still has to wait a little bit more time before the minicross season will see the start.
From the last round of the Internationals in two weeks, we will see instead Bryan Toccaceli, from San Marino, with his new Yamaha Korax Caparvi Racing Team (the Yamaha rider will race all the European events of the World Championship in the MX2 class) and also the fresh senior Italian champion Michael Mantovani and his teammate Cristian Furlotti, both racing for the Apex KTM Team. They will take part to the 2016 250 European championship this year. But now, right next weekend, let's go with the Internationals second round in Calabria, in the very deep South of Italy.
