Dopo le prime tre prove in Qatar, Thailandia e Brasile, lo scorso weekend il mondiale motocross ha fatto ritorno in Europa. Lo splendido Trentino Alto Adige, e nello specifico il circuito di Arco di Trento pochi chilometri a nord del lago di Garda, ha così ospitato il quarto round di questo campionato che si presenta quanto mai combattuto.
Al termine delle infuocate manche a salire sul gradino più alto del podio nell’assoluta sono così stati Clement Desalle nella MXGP e Jeffrey Herlings nella MX2 al rientro dopo l’infortunio occorsogli
durante una gara di campionato olandese che lo aveva costretto a saltare il GP del Brasile.
Per quanto riguarda la presenza Top Gun all’evento, non possiamo però fermarci a parlare solo di piloti. Tutta l’imponente forza organizzativa di Youth Stream ha infatti sfoggiato a partire da questo evento la nuova collezione 2014 di abbigliamento creata appositamente da Top Gun e sulla quale a partire da quest’anno, oltre a Monster, figura in qualità di main sponsor anche un altro marchio: Korax!
L’invasione dell’armadillo (il simbolo di Korax è proprio un armadillo stilizzato) come è stata simpaticamente chiamata la particolarmente evidente presenza del marchio durante
l’evento, è dunque stata prorompente con le circa 150 persone dello staff organizzativo a presenziare in ogni angolo dell’impianto, i numerosi striscioni in pista ed i piloti Maxime Desprey, Ivo Monticelli ed il campione del mondo MX3 2013 Klemen Gercar a
sfoggiare le stilose divise Korax Impala.
Team Honda JTech e Team Ktm Marchetti hanno poi contribuito a dare colore nei paddock con le loro strutture abbinate ai marchi Korax e Top Gun.
Parlando di risultati in pista un plauso di merito va al francesino della Honda Maxime Desprey che dopo un GP del Brasile sfortunatissimo (due cadute di cui quella al via della seconda manche con tanto di passaggio sul suo casco da parte di un’altra moto) nonostante gli ancora evidenti problemi ad una mano, ha sempre battagliato sulla soglia della top ten cogliendo un undicesimo ed un tredicesimo posto che gli valgono diversi
punti ai fini del campionato.
Sempre in MX2 Ivo Monticelli ha finalmente potuto iniziare la sua stagione mondiale dopo l’infortunio degli Internazionali d’Italia
che lo ha costretto a saltare i primi tre GP.
Peccato per la caduta nella prima manche mentre si trovava stabilmente in dodicesima posizione che lo ha portato al ritiro, meglio invece nella seconda prova dove ha lottato a lungo intorno alla quindicesima piazza per poi concludere ventunesimo ad un soffio dalla zona punti.
Anche per Klemen Gercar nella tostissima MXGP qualche caduta di troppo a causa di altri piloti ha fatto mancare un risultato migliore che lo ha visto terminare ventiquattresimo nell’assoluta di giornata con molta voglia di rifarsi già a partire dal prossimo GP. E non ci vorrà molto, domenica prossima infatti di nuovo tutti in pista in Bulgaria!
After the first three rounds in Qatar, Thailand, and Brazil this past weekend, the World motocross championship came back to Europe. The beautiful Trentino Alto Adige, in the specific Arco di
Trento’s circuit not far from Garda’s lake, hosted the fourth round of this fighted championship . At the end of the day, Clement Desalle made it to the top of the podium overall in the MXGP class, while Jeffrey Herlings was on the top podium in the MX2 class after coming back to race since the injury during a Netherland national championship race which forced him to miss the GP of Brazil.
With Top Gun’s presence at the event, we cannot only talk about the riders. All the imposing Youth Stream organization force has, in fact, showed off the new 2014 clothing collection specially
created by Top Gun on which starting this year, besides Monster, there will also be another main quality sponsor brand: Korax!
The armadillo invasion (the Korax symbol (right) is a stylized armadillo) has been the most visible presence of the brand
during the event. This racing armadillo has in fact been busting on the scene with the 150 staff people that attend every corner of the track, the numerous banners on the circuit, and the riders
Maxime Desprey, Ivo Monticelli and the 2013 MX3 World champion Klemen Gercar by wearing the new Korax Impala
mx uniforms.
Team Honda JTech and Team KTM Marchetti have also contributed to give colors to the paddock with their structures combined with Korax and Top Gun brands.
Speaking of results on track, a special mention goes to the Honda-Korax french rider Maxime Desprey. After a very unlucky Brazil GP (two crashes, one of which that on the start of the second round had another bike passing him right over the helmet) despite the evident problem to an hand, has always fought
on the threshold of the top ten to get an eleventh and thirteenth position that meant many points for the championship.
Ivo Monticelli could finally start his GP season in MX2 after the injury during the Internazionali d’Italia that forced him to miss the three first GP. Since he crashed in the first heat while he was stable in twelfth position, he was not able to finish the race. The second race was instead better, seeing the Korax-Bell rider
fighting long and hard for the fifteenth place before finishing twenty-first at a whisker from the points zone.
It was a very though MXGP class as well for rider Klemen Gercar. Crashes caused by other riders did not help him get a good result, making him finish twenty-fourth overall. But at the end of the day he had a great desire to do better at the next race. It will not be a long wait because next weekend, all will be on track for the GP of Bulgaria!
