Great motocross at the Arco di Trento GP

24/04/2015

After the rounds at Qatar, Thailand, and Argentina, it was now time for the Trentino's circuit of Arco to welcome in Europe the 2015 World Motocross Championship.
There were so great expectations for this race and our riders were all ready for this important event. In the MXGP class Filippo Bertuzzo, while in the MX2 the Belgian Jens Getteman, the two Russians Vsevolod Brylyakov and Viecheslav Golovkin, along with the Italian Ivo Monticelli, made so in way Korax was colorful on the track. This also because all the riders were showing off the new colors and gear lines like the Impala Texas Flag, the Impala Camo and the Wallaby Motley.
Thanks to the sunny Sunday, lots of spectators attended so a really exciting show, with fights and full of plot twist races, like the spectacular Villopoto's crash which at the end decreed that the podium went deservedly to Max Nagl in the MXGP and Tim Gajser in the MX2.
The commitment and grit showed by the Korax riders did not bring instead in the results that were expected. That was especially true for Jens Getteman. In the qualifying Saturday race he had finished with an eight position noteworthy comeback. But the hopes of the Honda JTech rider were wrecked in the first half of the first heat when he was centered in full and deliberately thrown to the ground by another rider, with as result a retreat after some laps. The same fate touched him in the second round, even if this time he did everything on his own with a big crash, but the resulting dents took him on the paddock way.
With two very good starts, the KTM Marchetti team rider Ivo Monticelli (see photo) achieved important points for this championship, even though he wasn't back at 100% in shape after the knee surgery from the end of the past season. He left the Arco track with a 16th and 13th placing him now at the 15th in the championship classification.
Still speaking about MX2, "Vseva" Brylyakov, showed a lot of grit, maybe even too much because in the second heat he had a not so happy run in with Monticelli that made both the riders go down in a corner. So in this GP he was only partially satisfied with a 13th finish and a stop for a mechanic problem probably due to a rock. These results are what Arco decided for the Honda JTech rider.

After the good points acquired in the overseas GP, more undertone instead the performance of the young Viecheslav Golovkin that really did not digest the trentino's track. Zero points in fact in his carnet for the KTM Silver Action rider this time, as well as Filippo Bertuzzo in an MXGP class so hard that, for a fully private rider like him, even a 27th and 28th place are valuable.
Thanking everybody for the numerous compliments and appreciation about the new Korax sets, the next meeting already is this weekend in the "Land of the Tulips" on the very difficult sandy track of Valkenswaard!
